I love stories ! My first inklings that I was more than normally interested in spanking and
discipline came I think from being excited by finding explicit CP references in books. Young children
in particular are still provided with very "traditional" notions of discipline just through
the cautionary tales and old nursery rhymes they are taught.
Many picturebooks and even our school textbooks showed the way naughty boys were dealt with throughout history, and although I was a bit young then to read "Tom Brown's Schooldays" I certainly saw the BBC version on TV, which at age 7 made a lifelong impression !

The 1950s comic phenomenon gave weekly spanking stories to millions of children in the US and all
over the world. When I was growing up in the 1970s, Dennis the Menace, Minnie the Minx, the Bash Street
Kids and all their friends from "The Beano" and similar British childrens' comics had been
doing sterling pro-spanking public relations work for decades !
Back then, children were growing up quite happily, reassured by the unquestioned assumption and
unbreakable rule that mischievousness was inevitably followed by a well-deserved spanking, slippering
or caning, and learning a useful sense of social justice. Rueful acceptance of mild discipline at home
and school was encouraged and discussed in almost everything we read, and watched in film and on TV too.
When I was a child I read avidly, obsessively. I was quickly able to explore some of the classic
literature, such as Dickens, which is replete with whackings and beaten boys. At middle school I
latched onto the exciting boys' adventure and public school fiction then common, which gave my
imagination plenty to play with ! There was a huge amount of that sort of fiction around
twenty or thirty years ago, still describing, if sometimes humorously, the strict school and home
regimes and social acceptance of discipline that were even then disappearing fast.
As society has changed the new childrens' writing has fallen shy of the subject, and those sorts of
stories with explicit scenes of expected and accepted discipline from fathers, uncles, teachers,
prefects, scoutleaders and even friendly policemen are now relegated to the dusty shelves of
second-hand bookstores or sold on ebay, curios for curious adults like us, never more to influence
impressionable young minds . . .
As I discuss in my experiences essay, on coming to music college in London,
independent at last, my very first exposure to the possibility of adult CP was through the 1980s UK
printed magazine "SIR" which was advertised in the small ads of gay magazines of the time
and consisted mainly of boy-discipline fiction, cartoons and a wide range of small-ad contacts.
At just 17 it was a hormone-explosive eye-opener for me ! My extremely fond memories of this
magazine are what prompted me to begin the (incomplete) web archive of it I've linked below.
I searched the book-store top shelves for more erotic CP "literature", looking for the quality
of writing and characterisation that I felt was sometimes lacking in the "SIR" stories.
Apart from the very rare exception (an occasional schoolmaster/pupil story from Victorian anthologies
such as "The Pearl" and the excellent F/m novella "The Governess") there were few
really good examples to enjoy. However, eventually I discovered the amazing "Beauty" trilogy
by Anne Rice, which allowed me to both adore the wonderful writing and fantasise obsessively about new
ideas of bondage and of being a helpless, well-whipped discipline slave !
When I finally felt comfortable exploring my gay sexuality openly, I discovered and devoured gay
novels and searched out SM fiction, especially the "Master" series of books of John Preston.
These great stories left a lasting impression and added a new, more adult and thoughtful side to my
appreciation of the discipline fetish. From that American SM fiction came the roots of my belief in
consent, respect and trust. It did leave me worrying that I'd have to become a part of the leather
scene to find what I was looking for, though !
As I made my first forays onto the Internet just a few years ago, it was the link I was given by
someone to the Jimka Male-Male Spanking Story Archive that kept me online for hours, enthralled, as I
rediscovered the simple pleasure of reading. Sometimes that pleasure was greatly enhanced, of course,
by the very hot stories of deserved punishment and painful submission, but amongst the jerk-off ware
I also found gems of great short literature there, real quality writing. The sheer range of scenarios
and inventive encounters with boys of all ages still astonishes me.
It was my tentative, grateful "fanmail" to some of those Jimka writers that built my
confidence and led directly to my own efforts and the discovery that I also enjoy (and have a small
ability for) writing. Perhaps indirectly that also led to the genesis of this website that you are
reading now . . . More recently, as you can see, I have returned to searching for and
enjoying the amazing CP artwork and cartoons that I used to love in those old magazines, and I've
now even been sent artwork drawn specially for me - thanks Jimbob for this fabulous cartoon !
It makes me really happy to be able to return the favour for all that pleasure I've had from the
CP story and artwork archives by putting something back through this site - my few (so far) stories
have been great fun to write but seem to be appreciated, and I've had the very great privilege of
being able to host here a definitive collection of the exquisite fiction of my very good friend
Paulus the Woodgnome, who I met through his stories when I first found them on Jimka. I hope that I
can in my own way encourage other budding writers to have the guts to publish themselves too!
The pre-eminent M/M CP story archive, Jimka's MMSA, closed in January 2005. For the last month it remained there was a notice there stating that for personal reasons Jimka no longer wished to host it and inviting people to download the files if they wished to see it continue in some form.
Since this was brought to my attention, I and a number of friends including other archive authors began testing a new version of the archive so that it might continue. Our goal was to make it far more searchable than it has ever been, and the user interface to it far superior, as well as more manageable as the archive continues to grow. Providing a much improved way of accessing the archive is something I personally have wanted to achieve ever since I put up this site, so I am extremely happy that I have finally had the opportunity to do this with the help of a number of really talented and committed people and incredibly generous volunteers.

Obviously many authors have posted anonymously so are unable to be contacted, but those that can be have been informed of this new site. Many have already joined us and it is already proving popular with new authors. It is rapidly becoming the de facto "official" replacement for the old MMSA. Its success still depends on support from you, the users, the willingness of authors to continue posting there, and of course the quality and quantity of the weblinks to it, so new readers can easily find it. Please publicise this URL as widely as you can !
We have full posting facilities and comprehensive text/story genre search features available now ! There is also an attached discussion forum so that readers and authors can interact more easily if they wish and have some input to the public policy of the archive. Security is a major feature - there are fundamental changes to the way posting is allowed, with authors having direct access to and control over their own stories for the first time, and many old posting errors are being actively rectified for them in an intensive cleanup operation.
Most importantly, this version of the archive is being far more actively moderated and managed by the team of authors and readers who have accepted the custodianship, so that any stories containing intergenerational sex, rape or unacceptable levels of child cruelty are removed and prevented from being posted. This is necessary to ensure its safety and future. Volunteers have now completed the massive job of wading through the entire archive to root out unacceptable stories, as well as helping to create the badly needed subject index, which makes browsing and searching this enormous and important resource easier.
